This is really sad, not least for the people who worked there, but the Church Army Research Unit provided a lot of excellent research partially into fresh expression and new forms of church that was valuable to me, and for shaping the national conversation.

1960s chocolate wrapper found between books in Cambridge university library!

Chocolate Gone - Scandal.
Ok, it’s time to ‘fess up. Who ate a Fry’s Crunchie bar in the UL and hid the wrapper behind some books?

Mark in our facilities team got a surprise when he unearthed this chocolate relic recently. Who can help us date it?

I’d like to recommend Chris Beckett’s 2017 novel about an American populist leader who needless picks a fight with Canada. Once stories find purchase in a groups imagination, it doesn’t matter whether they are true or not…

I reviewed it briefly in 2019.

At the lay ministry training weekend in Rochester Diocese, the news students were being taught theological reflection by Laurie Green. I’ve never heard anyone teach the pastoral cycle quite so compellingly. chbookshop.hymnsam.co.uk/books/978082...

Sad to hear of the death fo Jimmy Carter, one of the best ex-presidents there was. I met him on a plane once, back when he was a sprightly 77.

I’ve been struck from the Christmas readings this year about Herod and ten killing of the children. He couldn’t find Jesus to kill, so he widened his options to all boys under 2 years in the hope he’d find him.

Went to the most wonderful advent carol service at Trinity Hall this evening. Haven’t experienced one like that for a long time. The choir’s harmonies were exquisite and the sound filled the space. The organ voluntary was the Toccata from Messiaen’s Nativité du Seigneur.
