If I won the lottery, I wouldn’t tell anyone, but there would be signs (there would be an industrial dishwasher in my kitchen).
I feel bad for people who've never worked as a dishwasher and felt the satisfying ka-chunk of slamming down the top of one of these to start a wash cycle

When did web browsers remove the status bar that used to be at the bottom of the window? Suddenly I'm remembering all of the early websites that would update the status bar text as you hovered over different things, or would "scroll" text to make a ticker. Does anybody else remember this?

100% agree with @myke.social here. Having the internet on a home PC and being able to IM with friends, browse forums, research any topic you could imagine, get exposure to new ideas—but then leave it behind when you left your house—was the best.

“Initially, everyone thought it would cause gridlock. But people adapted. Now we can’t imagine the highway ever being here.”
20 years ago, Seoul tore down an elevated highway and built a park in its place. “The restored waterway has been a triumph.” It attracts millions of visitors, improves air quality, manages floods, cools the city, and hosts plants & wildlife. [theguardian.com]

Coca-Cola C2 (2004-2007): Part of an industry-wide experiment with "mid-calorie" sodas, this cola offered half the calories and sugar of standard Coke. Hung on for 3 years before being pulled due to poor sales, it outlasted it's direct competitor, Pepsi Edge.
