1st year computer science student at Northwestern Uni programmed a website to see the real-time effects of the recent NY congestion charge. Would be great to add other metrics - singing birds, children playing, physical activity, more space for trees?

Grifters who will gladly sell out their country will always attract other grifters who will gladly sell out their country. O’Leary has always been the worst but this is a new low.

it’s fascinating that left-NIMBYs will just nonchalantly say “the private sector will never release enough homes to allow prices to fall” as if it’s some universally known truth…

Many European cities have introduced or are considering a general speed limit of 30 km/h for their streets:

30 km/h can improve road safety, reduce emissions, and decrease noise pollution. At this speed, motor vehicles and slow traffic can safely mix, and collisions are less likely to be fatal.

One thing that is a bit exhausting is seeing people criticizing one set of bonus checks from a government while embracing another set. Whether it’s Doug’s “rebate” or Justin’s “tax break”, both are awful policy and deserve equal criticism.
