Looking at a lot of these Best Of SFF lists and it's very clear to me that a lot of book people do not read widely or diversely. If your best ofs are majority NYT Big 4 bestsellers and books by and about cishet white ppl, I feel sorry for you. Missing out on so much incredible fiction.

Blessings Of The Wool Dragon
A smiling being.. perhaps the ancestor of all manner of capra, a dragon of goat-like, sheep-like qualities. Its wool is white, shimmering, as it lays on a meadow, allowing villagers of a weaving village to gather from its body its fine wool. All manner of baskets, carpets, blankets and dye-pools, spinning wheels and looms surround the dragon. swallows fly over the sky peacefully.
