This part yall!! Peruse the shelves, look at all the things! Then do what the post says. The numbers matter. ☺️
The original post was deleted, so tldr: Don’t reshelve your own books at the library! Usually there’s bins at the ends of the shelves. Staff will collect the books at the end of the day, and scan the barcodes. This generates stats that show our items are being used. More stats, more funding 📚

I adore Octavia Butler. This book was hard to read in the best way.
The Handmaid's Tale is a good book. But did you know that there's a book written by a Black woman about a post-apocalyptic Earth heavily affected by climate change and societal decline. The book was published in 1993, but is set in 2024 following a presidential election 👀 #BookSky #BlackBookSky

I adore Octavia Butler. This book was hard to read in the best way.
Not quite a year ago I was in the midst of spatchcocking the Thanksgiving turkey when the kitchen shears stopped doing the trick. So I got out the cleaver. On the third whack, the knuckle of my left thumb edged into the swing zone. It stopped bleeding with a bandage and direct pressure. 😵💫

My mom has just enough dementia to need a great deal of help with calendars, shopping, meds, finances and getting through appointments, but is still theatrical as hell and deeply disappointed with my lack of appreciation for this quality.

I hate BetterHelp. Every ad reminds me of how much I wanted help, how long I waited to meet with my therapist the 1st time, how long it took to get the next appt and how she dropped me right before that appt so I paid 3 months for 1 session, and customer service was, "yeah that's how this works."
