I wanted the Moonlight Greatsword model used in the SoM logo to use for stuff and... it ended up spiralling into this I guess.

[SOUND WARNING]
Video of me using the Ground Bell in King's Field 2 which is comically loud for some reason.

A Frail Promise just released!!

Roughly 25 minutes of ethereal dungeon synth.

It tells the tale of a frail knight who takes a dangerous oath for his lover, an elven prince.

I hope you enjoy :3

Forever Kingdom (2001) is an action RPG by FromSoftware for the Sony PlayStation 2 and known as EverGrace II in Japan. Acting as EverGrace's prequel, Darius and two friends are cursed to share their souls forcing them into an epic adventure seeking a way to undo it. (a strange kind of place thread)

It's finally coming!!
On December 8th... I'm releasing my next game, Angeline Era!!!
It's a vast, 3D action-adventure where you travel across a country's unmarked overworld, with every level hidden in plain sight.
Please look forward to it!!

there's also this unused command in DS1 event data which I couldn't get to do anything, but the name is interesting.

makes me think of the fountains from king's field series, where you could refill your crystals with heal juice. wonder if during development there were spots like that for estus.

EverGrace's development pushed FromSoftware's team in coming to grips with the PS2 (and which was briefly developed for the PS1 before the about face!). But in trying out a few new ideas, it's an interesting peek at FromSoft's early history with a different, and not as bloodthirsty, kind of RPG!

Critics in general gave FromSoft's adventure something of a cool reception. EGM's review crew knocked the game for a variety of different reasons ranging from technical issues like its "obnoxious" load times to its "jaggy visuals" while praising features like its "dress-up" system.

EverGrace was rough around the edges but it also had a few neat ideas, too, such as utilizing a "paper doll" inventory system (a concept that had also seen use in the PC space with games like Ultima VI in 1990). Dungeons were also filled with action and, sometimes, devious puzzles.

Aside from choosing between two different characters (who eventually do come together), EverGrace's gameplay mechanics were straight to the point. Monsters dropped "palmira" (and sometimes gear) which was used to buy, upgrade, and maintain both you and your arsenal.

FromSoftware took a new direction with EverGrace using a third-person view and a much more forgiving approach from their King's Field series. There were no levels: characters improved with gear and gear upgrades instead and players could switch between either protagonist.
