Carbon capture and storage is a dream built up to bolster the fossil fuel industry's ongoing destruction of our environment and health. The harsh reality is we need to reduce energy consumption wherever possible and transition the rest to renewables. #degrowth
The US gov is fully in favor of asking the industry whose pipes have been leaking oil and gas into our water and soil for decades to build out a whole nationwide network of pipelines for compressed CO2, which can kill people if leaked. As a “climate solution”…but really it’s a fossil fuel lifeline
