🧵 I live in Los Angeles. We have not had to evacuate and are safe, but like many people here, I have friends who have lost everything. I realize I can't combat the firehose (see what I did there?) of bullshit spewing about this disaster from internet and media sources, but I'll say this:

My cousin lost his business & my friends lost their home.

These fires affected so many middle-class families who need your help. 🧵1/5

Protest with your pocketbook. January 20th, the 1st of many walk-outs. Don't go to work, don't buy gas, don't spend a dime. Only use what is necessary; heat, water. Go for a walk, read a book, play board games, it's free. Take our country back from the billionaires.

If you are in the affected California fires area, excellent advice!

Keep your pets in to ensure their safety from wildlife fleeing the fires!

Keep buckets of water out for them.

Stay safe, my friends.

That is a lie.

The budget was actually *increased* by $50 million.

Smoke inhalation — even for seconds - can impair consciousness.

To anyone in the immediate vicinity of this unprecedented fire in the nations most populous county, urgently heed the evacuation orders NOW.

Smoke is as dangerous as the flames behind them.
