40mph - 50mph in bad weather, when there are queues further round or at peak times?

60mph - 70mph when it’s quieter and safer.

Don’t believe us?

Look at the crash maps for Hillend and what the RAC says about how average speed cameras reduce serious collisions by up to 46%

20 minute neighbourhoods need sustainable deliveries…

…Royal Mail has you covered!

This just proves that for many deliveries, you don’t need a van #streetsNOTroads

20 minute neighbourhoods need a local vernacular.

Many of the new buildings in #Edinburgh could be in any city. Time for 21st Century colonies or tenements in a more local style?

One of these attracts significant tax breaks…

… the other is our free-to-hire community electric Cargobike.

In 2021, Dom Luís I Bridge in Porto was refurbished. Rather than reopen it to private cars, Porto focused on prioritising public transport, taxis, pedestrians and cyclists only.

Should #Edinburgh, a city with lofty aspirations to prioritise public transport and reduce car use, follow suit?

20 minute neighbourhoods need bus priority measures and a reduction in private cars so buses are much faster and more efficient.

Based on average private car occupancy, there were as many people of the top floor of the bus this photo was taken from as there were in the queue delaying the bus.

When telling motorists they can’t pass is so important, you block the only pavement for anyone else who wants to get past too!

Space for a few cars or several businesses to have seating? Which is better for the economy?

Removing bollards and allowing cars to park where they want will not be successful.

20 minute neighbourhoods need green spaces.

A pretty #Edinburgh high street closed on a Sunday morning:

🛍️ 🛒 Shopping street to boost local businesses Sunday sales?

🥖Sunday market?

🏃‍♀️Space for the local running club Sunday Coffee without the normal traffic noise & pollution?

Nope, Roadworks - we can but dream! #StreetNOTroads

The same in #Edinburgh. It invested in its public realm to increase walking and cycling and Mastercard reported a 20% increase in local spend.

Many other benefits were also evidenced in the multi year study - despite predictions of disaster, the scheme was anything but.
