Today I voted for protecting nature.
The Lords added sensible, evidence-based amendments to the Planning & Infrastructure Bill to strengthen nature protection. But the govt rejected them.
Ministers need to listen - to experts, to trusted organisations, and to the public.

@timharford.ft.com just listened to the piece on farmer's IHT. Was waiting for you to talk about possible impact of tax on farm values. Once current tax incentive for non farmer ownership removed, farm values should fall, taking more farms out of reach of the tax.

It's hard to be sure quite how many times #TheMeg2 jumped the shark (pun intended) but it was a lot, and honestly I was there for it - exactly what I expected, exactly what I wanted. Loved it.

It's hard to be sure quite how many times #TheMeg2 jumped the shark (pun intended) but it was a lot, and honestly I was there for it - exactly what I expected, exactly what I wanted. Loved it.
Yay - for the first time in far too long, I'm heading back to Sevilla!
Lived there for a while many years ago, the thought of returning has always been with me. Had a few brief visits but not for ages. I've heard so much about positive changes, can't wait to see them for myself.
