Writing, painting, hoofing along any trail I can find, always looking for the pearls in the oysters. Big fan of libraries and public land. #Oregon #historicalfiction

I find myself reaching for my old paper thesaurus instead of asking AI. Maybe its the tangible real-life heft of the book in my hands that make the words feel more substantial. Maybe AI is getting lazy, like the demand for a wider vocabulary is fading. #writing #AI #analoglife #writingfiction

Weighing the pros and cons of self publishing paths. Seems like #KDP and #IngramSpark complement each other. Any advice or stories from writers with experience using both is welcome! #writing #historicalfiction #publishing

Hey #substack writers… do you see many readers who prefer to follow you instead of subscribing (read in the app instead of email newsletters)? And does this change your writing? I’m a newbie trying to figure it out. #writingcommunity #publishing

How do you prepare a canvas for watercolor paint? I gave this two coats of gesso and two coats of ground, and it was very strange how the paint spread. Used a bit of acrylic paint and a micron pen to give definition. All suggestions welcome! #watercolor #art #painting #mixedmedia

The world changed for the better 125 years ago when the Kodak Brownie camera put the power of photography in the hands of average people. Did social media start when anyone could capture and share a moment in time? Old photographs tell important stories.

Looks like tomorrow will bring votes on a Republican plan to fund tax cuts for the rich by slashing Medicaid.

So this is a great time to contact your Member of Congress.

Seems like a good time to point out that you can download from the library of congress, and it would be worthwhile to download probably as much as you can while you can
