For my in-laws' 50th anniversary in 1999, we promised them a very special home-cooked meal. For the first course, we presented them with elegant shrimp cocktails. This naturally raised their expectations. When it was time for the main course, rather

Concise, informative, important.
Resistance is not futile.
Is the shutdown over? Not yet.
Tonight’s vote was only step 1 of 5.
There’s still another 60-vote hurdle, amendments, AND then the House.
Pressure matters right now—especially on Kaine, Rosen, Hassan, Shaheen.
Stay loud.

I HOPE this is not true, but I just left a message for each of my Senators, asking them to continue to stand firm. I truly believe that unless whatever the GOP is offering is absolutely a done deal, incontrovertible, with no chance of reneging, then the Democratic Senate must continue to #resist.
If this is true it’s a catastrophic failure by Democrats

Any means to their abominable ends.
Republicans are for “state’s rights” when that means promoting segregation and tormenting LGBTQ folks.

When state’s rights means feeding your state’s residents, they are all in for the federal government ensuring starvation.
The US Department of Agriculture has ordered that "states must immediately undo any steps taken to issue full SNAP benefits for November 2025".

There is no humane, no moral, no decent way to explain this. There simply is no concern for the well-being of every American in the doctrine of the #GOPRegime. #TheCrueltyIsThePoint
“The Trump administration told states on Saturday to “immediately undo” any actions to provide full food stamp benefits to low-income families, threatening financial penalties if they do not comply.”

PLEASE stand strong on this issue. Hold the line.

Senate Dems, do not cave. Ensuring healthcare premiums don’t surge is an 80-20 issue. They want to gut the ACA because their disdain for Obama far outweighs their concern for anyone’s health.

An important voice from our past challenges us to do better.
That quote from Robert F. Kennedy feels like it was written for 2025, doesn’t it? But if we’re being honest, the tragedy is that it’s not just a warning anymore it’s a mirror.

If nothing else, the last nine months should have made it clear that elections matter. But what’s remarkable about America is that we have the power, as citizens, to change this country by voting. Go to IWillVote.com.

Great reflection on an amazing series! Dedicated fans of neither team, we rooted for the Dodgers because the Blue Jays had beaten both of our favored teams in the playoffs. This series could NOT have been more engaging--such a ride! #WorldSeries

There is only one way to frame this.
It starts with RAC
and ends with ISM.
With more than 200,000 Black active-duty members serving in the military—historically one of the country’s few avenues of social mobility for the Black community—Hegseth’s grooming policy will no doubt have a devastating impact.

That’s no accident.
If only Pete Hegseth's military shaving crusade was just stupid
Hegseth knows damn well who he's pushing out: Black troops.

This holds true for most, if not all, #regulations that the #GOPRegime is trying to roll back. These protective laws were not created in a vacuum. They were prompted by injuries to our planet & it's people by companies who prioritized profits over safety. Nothing has changed. The need remains.
