Many visitors to the UK come via my home county of Kent. So the first National Trust place I'd recommend to someone visiting the UK for the first time is a wonderful 15th-century yeoman's house I've visited and photographed many times - Stoneacre.

The walls of 7th century, St Proculus near Naturno, in the South Tyrol are covered with frescos from the 7th to 10th centuries including one known as 'the saint on a swing' said to be the eponymous saint escaping his persecutors via a window. #FrescoFriday

The Church of St. Philibert, Tournus, Saône-et-Loire, France is all that remains of a former Benedictine Abbey. It is renowned for its Romanesque architecture, but also has this marvellous mosaic.
