Although some years back I met an Asian man who liked living in Harrogate because people assume he's a doctor or accountant. In Leeds they expect him to drive a minicab.

My dad mostly sends very brief emails or texts e.g. Dear Susanna, Your new credit card has arrived. Love Dad. It is slightly like being sent a telegram.

One of my earliest memories is standing in a police station (our car had a flat battery, mum was asking if the coppers could lend her some jump leads) and reading a poster asking for information about a girl who had been abducted and murdered. She was my age, five. She was called Caroline Hogg.

It generally is, particularly compared with where I lived in England, and the winters are mild, but it can still do the four seasons in one day thing!

Fab photo - but I was in the other cathedral - I have no knowledge of the watertightness of St Patrick's. (Also it's my first time in Melbourne and I love it. Already thinking about a return visit).

In NZ our clocks went forward on 28th September and we had the few excellent weeks of 12 hours time difference with the UK. Now it'll be 13 or 11 and I'll have to check before ringing my family.
