Sometime word wrangler, likes Forteana other weird stuff, Science fiction and Crime (reading about not committing). She/her
it's nine-fifteen. I've realised I've been wearing my cardie inside out all day. Luckily it's blowy weather and my zip-up padded coat concealed this when I went into town.

Still got a nod fromone of the Costa regulars; an older gent, there most days, quietly reading his paperback. Have I pulled?

Head gasket blown, she's 16 years old, 126,000 miles, sadly it's Kurtains, for Kara the Ford Ka, it would Kost more to fix her than she's worth (at least in money).

Went to see "An Evening of Clairvoyance", arrived to find it had been cancelled at short notice, as the Medium wasn't well.

At least I resisted the temptation to say "They didn't see that coming".

A bin lorry (Garbage truck to our US friends) caught fire this morning and driver dumped the entire load of rubbish onto the road to stop the whole thing from going up in flames.
This was on American Lane in Huntingdon (UK).
This feels like it might be a metaphor for something.

Language abuse at the Daily Hate Mail, by illiterate sub eds.

"Major US volcano erupts creating tornado of piping hot LAVA."

"piping hot"? it's a f****** VOLCANO, not a Pie and Gravy.

I saw the new Moon,
With the old Moon in her arms

(It was a preternaturally clear sky just after sunset, and the earthlight just right)

As once more there're threats of Nuclear War, the Government should reissue the "Protect and Survive" booklet from the 1980s. It's still be a joke, and we need a laugh.

Who else spent the second half of DUNE 2, waiting for Paul Atreides to say "I'm not the Messiah, I'm a very naughty boy"?

If the Facebook advert for your self-published fantasy novel(s) on Amazon mentions Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, JK Rowling, or Neil Gaiman etc, it's safe to assume that your books are rubbish and that your family and best mates wrote all the 5 Star reviews.

Dreamt I had written a Children's Book and it had been published. It's title? "Henry the Potato and his T54 Tank".

Three of the last five films I've seen have been psychological thrillers; The Lesson, Saltburn, and Eileen. The last two are in the vein of Patricia Highsmith (Saltburn is Brideshead Revisited plus The Talented Mister Ripley). Eileen has a touch of Hitchcock. The first two feature Richard E Grant.

Dream Scenario (2023) a very dark comedy. Nicholas Cage as a middle-aged biology professor, who starts appearing in strangers' dreams. He goes viral on social media and becomes a celebrity. Then his dream character turns violent, fame turns to notoriety, he's harassed and shunned, and it gets worse.

Dreamt I'd been given a job fitting six mosquitos with skis. (Three legs to each ski which were tiny slivers of wood, glued on). Messed up the first one, but got the knack, and did a few extra as spares.
