The unpainted bricks are a golden color. It’s wild to see how different the original color is (the brick is unpainted on the interior).

I work in that building. They aren’t stripping the paint, they are tuck pointing. I’ve been wondering why they are doing the street level portion later than the higher floors, too.

In the years I’ve lived on my street the mostly empty lot, which is an old abandoned power station, has been a sauna yard; storage for rusty carnival rides—including a six-seat Ferris wheel; a junkyard; and empty. I’m gonna miss the writing-prompt-for-a-horror-story lot.
