Raging against the dying of the light.
One of the challenges of surviving cancer -- living with the risk of recurrence. @pulsevoices.org recently printed my essay describing my experience. #cancersurvivor #creativenonfiction #cancer

Recurrence? - Pulse
In bed, at midnight, nearly asleep, I roll from my back to my side. Suddenly, the universe spins. Or is it just my head spinning? If I were standing, I’d fall over. I lie still, breathing, and waiting...

To mostly quote the great Dylan Thomas:

"And you, my [country], there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."

If you haven't watched 8 cellos playing an Abba medley, you haven't fully lived.

Cello Fest 2025 — Austin Camerata
It’s a one-of-a-kind program. Eight cellists in one room, playing everything from Bossa Nova to Harry Styles to Queen to Mozart. The atmosphere is almost other worldly.

I just saw a live show by the Improvised Shakespeare Company. Quite possibly the most brilliantly funny performance ever. See them if you can.

Want to shout out, but they, sadly, don't seem to be on @bsky.app yet.

Am currently obsessed by the late Brian Doyle's essays. Humor, insight, wisdom, and just kickass wordcraft in every one. I'll just leave this blast from the past out here, because both the message and the writing are on point. brevitymag.com/nonfiction/m...

If this were real, instead of AI-generated, would it be crow-chet?

Are there any of us ADHD'ers out there who haven't found our phones in the refrigerator? #ADHDisreal
ME: hmmm... my ADHD isn't too bad today

This is Galileo's middle finger, displayed prominently in the Galileoo Museum in Florence.

There's something beautiful about this rare secular relic. Like maybe Galileo gets to show his feelings about science denial for centuries after his death. (Or maybe they're just my feelings.) #galileo

Last night, I heard an NPR story last night saying that RFK Jr. wants to fund research on whether or not chemicals in the water are making kids transgender. Until now, I don't think I truly appreciated how hard the job of @theonion.com's writing staff has become.
