I agree. I read that, like NPR and PBS, they receive a substantial amount of their operating funds from the federal government. I would like to see private donations supplant the need for federal funds for all of these institutions. I support PBS & am ready to do more. Who is with me? #USDemocracy

Neither requires "upgrading." There is also something going on with the U.S. Holocaust Museum. The Doctors Rybacki made a substantial donation to the latter. Trump and the government don't own the Smithsonian. James Smithson set up the Public Trust. The Smithsonian belongs to the People. Hands Off.
