Brand New All-Hit Z93! …is what I would be saying if I were a radio station, but I am not. Hello.
Tech details for the interested: (1) AppleTV/iPlayer: Apparently a software bug. (2) Sky Glass: The Smurfs was the programme before the movie. Some kind of buffering issue. (3/4) DTT: Subtitles from a programme airing at the same time on a different channel in the same digital multiplex.

I seem to remember Sky excitedly describing “Baddiel’s Syndrome” as a candidate at the time.

This is most likely what it would have looked like originally:

It would probably be possible to reconstruct more of that page given the raw page data (ep1/t42/ttx/etc) - there's probably a fair amount of text which is simply not visible because it's being shown as white-on-white, so hand editing could improve things enormously. Happy to have a go if it helps.

Yes - but also, sometimes, no, because then blah blah metadata/ratings/VOD matching/different assets/can't track combined viewing/startover/green button/end of the world, etc. Maybe. (Just a guess.) But I do agree.

Looks like Apple have finally pulled iPadOS 17.7.7 - shame they didn’t listen to the people who apparently reported the problems during beta testing. Hmph.

If you know you don’t want to run it more than 32 times, could you skip the DJNZ completely and just repeat the first six lines 31 times? If you get to the end then you can act accordingly, you still jump out if the 76 is hit sooner, and you save the cycles from each DJNZ instruction not taken.

She’s literally reading out what it says on Wikipedia. Amazing.

A handsome 42k on a disc for just £300 - imagine! ('Your Computer' February 1983)

That tune is a bop, by the way. Sound of the summer.

I'd love to think that today there would still be a box of tapes in the back offices of WH Smith with all the old stuff from their TV channel business from some 40 years previous. But how likely is that? I would've been tempted to buy the company myself if there had been. :)

LIfestyle, and its sister channel Screensport, were both free and unencrypted on satellite, although their owners WHSTV (yes, THE W H Smith) were constantly threatening to be scrambling the channels Real Soon Now - but never did.

The thing I do like about that link is that the name of the programme is clearly "Do The Right Thing *Question Mark?*" and it seems that presentation are the only people who notice and reflect it. The show itself (and the other promo on youtube) seem to omit that subtlety.

I tend to use a different word each day, whatever occurs to me. Not the best strategy, I realise. I did somehow manage to get the word first time once, though. Just pure luck, that one time.

Same here! What are the chances?
