Is this sarcasm? I can't tell anymore... Remastering a game for modern hardware while preserving the originals spirit is making it for modern systems and that process doesn't come for free. They made a whole launch video describing an entire studio spending years doing it and the how/why..
Old videogames don't need to be 'remastered'. They just need to be available on modern systems.

We could have had lock boxes. But no... we ended up with several trillions in foreign wars, the largest terrorist attack on US Soil, several once in a lifetime economic crashes with a pandemic, and a 34-time felon driving our country into despair.
Al gore is pissed off and I’m here for it

You know it's a problem when we spend more money enforcing "anti-homeless" laws than actually solving issues that cause homelessness.

And those anti homeless laws are making it harder to travel and see the world because they make it illegal to camp.

Criminalizing "homelessness" is a big waste.

A full 9 weeks after getting covid i’m just now getting back to an acceptable heart rate & oxygen intake. The first time i got covid i was not in the best of health or fitness and it lasted over 6 months. Huge difference it makes but dang i don’t want this to be a routine/seasonal thing

I glad we see verified checkmarks. I'm just curious how this will play out of federation is the goal - no other distributed social network could figure that out without taking away agency from admins or being suspectable to simple code changes on local views/clients.

This is not a time for media literacy or historical knowledge to be held hostage by institutions bending the knee to authoritarianism.

I'm glad I stopped paying much attention to the skeptic movement, but it's disappointing to see so many big names from it abandon empirical skepticism in favor of narrative skepticism while still claiming to be a skeptic/scientist.

Time to clear up some of my bookshelf...

I think his board is calling him home (seeking accountability at Tesla and other businesses) and instead of telling the truth, he's just lying because that is what liars do.

Is there something that happens that when people get famous or find wealth that just converts them into monsters? I'm glad the left rejected these folks and ironically, I don't think they will find a welcoming home on the right since there is just too much competition to the bottom for them to shine
Yall wanna hear something extremely embarrassing? Before Trump’s election, a bunch of academics who lumbered rightward after being criticized by the left (Pinker, Dawkins, Krauss) wrote essays for a book that is coming out in July about the threats to academia from the left.

YALL, THE TITLE!!

I'm surprised Trump hasn't tried to executive order appoint a new Pope.

Write letters to the editor of your local paper. It's easy. I wrote one and got a nice letter back from my state senator appreciating me. I'll be writing more :)

A white man just shot up a college campus and killed two people. Are we going to start rounding up white people? You can't trust them in schools apparently
An innocent man who committed no crime but is the same race as the person who murdered your daughter should have to spend the rest of his life in a concentration camp is the argument?

Target was the "target" of conservative groups who took pride in cancelling target but never shopped at Target to begin with. Target fell for it and lost their core shoppers. They could have apologized and pivoted but apparently, it's better to go down in flames...
Nobody from Target can explain why they thought ending DEI programs and cutting ties with Black businesses would have no impact on Black consumers spending money in their stores. They knew we'd stop. They simply underestimated the impact of us cutting them off. That's why it's still "no" for me.

I figured Runna was having issues when they sent out a survey a few weeks ago asking people basically if they would miss Runna... curious what Strava will do with it.

I'm cancelling both and sticking to Garmin and contrary to garmin users, garmin+ may be a cheaper/better service.

Appealing to self-proclaimed authority is not a strength, it's coercion and it's intellectually weak.

It also makes for really terrible BlueSky chats that never need to be said because the intent is nothing but self-proclaimed authority rather than conversation.

It's also really tiring and so X

My favorite Marathon running poster was someone holding up a sign that said "This isn't book club, you're supposed to finish the race"
Who told you that you have to finish every book you start?

Is this a hint of life on another world, or just a lot of hot air?
