Such a good point. As a professor and biomedical researcher I can vouch that science research and science education is a large part of America’s economic success. This admin throwing it away is causing generational damage!
I feel like everything got in the weeds that we're not making the argument for why govt funding of science and education is good.

the intensity of my anger at those who would criminalize the homeless — a population literally created by the greed and callousness of the ruling class — is very hard to contain. it was you who dismantled the safety net. if you don’t like the results, put it back

The current administration has more successfully destroyed US science and the scientific enterprise than the hypothetical nuclear weapons program in Iran.
NEW: NSF will be kicked out of their building. Announcement will be made tomorrow by HUD Sec. and Governor of VA. HUD will take over the NSF building over the next two years.

NSF staffer: "There is no planning for NSF, no identified future location, appropriation for a new building or a move."

It is day 100 since Andry was disappeared by Trump admin to a gulag in El Salvador. 100 days since this photo was snapped while he begged for his mom. 100 days of wondering if he is still alive. We’re still waiting for the devastatingly slow wheels of justice to turn. #FreeAndry

Word.
“The future of biomedical research in the United States comes down to a race to see whether the biomedical research community can mobilize politically, access that vast but latent political power, before the White House can do enough sustained damage to make the whole question moot.”

As an American Scientist working in the U.K. this hits the issue as I see it.

A lot of my colleagues in the U.K. have no sense of the cataclysmic changes taking place in the NIH. While not mentioned in the article the targeting of foreign student visas is another time bomb for research too.
