So anyway, I created an updated version of that XdanielArt chart that contains all the Adobe alternatives since there are a lot more now than there were back when that list was originally made, and Adobe has continued to get shittier and shittier.

Love this movie so much. Nothing else like it.
The Night of the Hunter is an embarrassment of riches of filming and noir turned into a southern Gothic nightmare, pretty much any shot or sequence once it locks in is an all-timer. The sheer horror of John and Pearl's race across the Ohio river, pursued by the Devil himself.

i love having a website, websites as portfolio, websites as art projects themselves, you can make one for yourself, you can pool resources and make one as a group, you can do whatever. it's extremely satisfying to build your own house!

I've been doing character concepts for a client, and these knights have been my morning warmups before starting work

It's What People Wore When! I got is cheap second hand. Really useful to look at broad strokes of a region's clothing and history.

Have you ever noticed that the deltoid disappears from the frontal view when you lift your arm? Its masses become visible in the rear, and as a proper bony landmark, the clavicle stays exposed throughout this movement. #anatomy #3dmodeling #characterdesign

Pronation and supination are most visible in the forearm, but form changes also occur above the elbow. These cross-sections show how the arm shifts between the two positions. #anatomy #3dmodeling #characterdesign

Unlock key head landmarks through proportions. First, remove the top sixth (crown to hairline) to isolate the face. Divide the rest into thirds: hairline to brow, brow to nose, nose to chin. (1/2)

This is a technique I’ve used for years because of this one tweet from @sonnyross.bsky.social. Thank you Sonny for changing my life

The book cover was designed by Talia Abramson at Penguin but they let me have a bit of a say over the colours. And I said boy do I have an idea….

I dont use black, though you can!

To make "black" i use ultramarine blue and a bit of cadmium orange.

Really like this book for learning about colors!!
