POTS is so weird. What do you mean I couldn't stay conscious, was out for between 30 & 50 minutes, woke up feeling like crap, rebooted & am now fine? This is a ridiculous condition, how am I supposed to manage or plan for this?

2 stars this round, b/c sometimes I hallucinate the whole time I'm out.

I've got about 3 paragraphs before I finish drafting this book, but it's really late and they're really important paragraphs and I don't want to rush it.

I could lament the horrors of being responsible but I've well passed that time wise. It's REALLY late😬

Whyyyyyyy would Ibis Paint decide to add a new vector layer every few minutes? That is not helpful! It was also switching which layer I was on WHILE I WAS DRAWING. THAT IS NOT HELPFUL EITHER.

I'm going to go write instead, where if I screw up it's at least usually my fault.

One of my hobbies is telling of Facebook writers' groups when people come in trying to get approval for using 'just a little' AI. Just for ideas, just when they get stuck, etc. I list all the moral problems with AI they're normalizing while they're busy trying to decide if it's 'real writing'.

The things I need to do, the things I want to do, and the chronic illness flair that doesn't want me to do anything are currently fighting it out in an arena, and the chronic illness has a folding chair.

Convincing you to read my (unpublished) novel by the first sentence. Share yours if you want.

This is the start of the Perhaps On A Different Plane, a YA urban fantasy trilogy.

All that's left of the Calamity's Leftovers duology is the epilogue...& a lot of editing.

But for now I will celebrate nearing the end of a very odd story involving giant mutated sapient animals, a whole community as the protagonist, partly written in a made up language consisting of 61 words.

Today and yesterday I spent all day hurrying to get the things I needed to do done so I could do the stuff I wanted to do, but by the time I was done with chores I'd run out of day. Not my favorite. At least I got some apple cake and banana bread out of it.

It’s wild to suggest this is a circular firing squad or something when it’s millions of citizen Democrats who hate it versus 47 elected Democrats who conspired to surrender for nothing.

We’re not fighting “each other,” we’re fighting you. There’s only a few dozen of you, but you hold all the power.
But there are real dangers out there that must be fought; and energy spent fighting each other is energy lost to that bigger fight.

Today I learned that if you harvest lemongrass when it's cold enough outside you will not feel the dozens of tiny sawgrass cuts until you come inside and warm up, and will believe you are simply successfully being very careful.

Mistakes were made.

Also, what do I sow with this much lemongrass?

Hey artists! I'm trying to illustrate my urban fantasy & have run into a problem.

I'm partly face blind. I do NOT understand human faces. I can paint photorealistic nature, pretty good at inanimate objects. But not people.

Can I get some kind constructive critsism? Why does this look so lifeless?

It's going to be 28 degrees colder here tomorrow than today. Is anyone else with migraines and/or POTS worries about, ya know, surviving? 😬😬😬

One of the weird things about my mischief incarnate dog is if you catch her trying to take something that isn't hers and it's NOT yet in her mouth you can say "no stealing" and she'll leave it alone. Basically "Swiper no swiping" works. If it's already in her mouth she's won the game, it's too late.

Me: Night time! Time to write!🥳

Body: can't write, no energy

Me: what? We've done almost nothing all day, because YOU'RE throwing a POTS fit.

Body: no write, go to bed.

Me: surely I can squeeze in a little.

Body: *cocks a migraine like a gun* No. Write. Too. Tired.

Me: *taps key rebelliously*

A weird thing about POTS flairs is the symptoms feel like dehydration, but no amount of fluid will fix it. It goes something like this:

Body: drink the thing drink the thing, fix us with the magic thing!

Me: we've tried literally everything, you know we just have to wait.

Body: DRINK MAGIC THING

Not my dumbass forgetting I can take migraine medicine again.

To be fair it's not a headache, but all the vertigo and brain fog that goes with it and usually lingers after a migraine. I had a massive migraine 2 nights ago & thought it was just aftershock. Didn't really notice it getting worse.

I don't WANNA critique this round's writing group submission. Ya know, the writing group I made, run, spent months finding &encouraging members,& >year urging them to put more effort into their critiques!

I have absolutely done this to myself. But also it's been a migraine week & I wanna slack off.

The latest illustration for A Less Ordinary Evil, book one of the Perhaps on A Different Plane trilogy, where a late night surprise period leads the MC into the second inciting incident.

I learned about periods from Tamora Pierce's books. They should definitely be part of YA fiction.

There were exactly 6 people on my ballot for 3 nonpartisan positions in my town. Barely seemed worth leaving the house for past adding one tally in the "screw you, secret Republicans".

But I'm really glad I did so I can at least feel like part of the blue wave and joy it's bringing.

Driving into the polling center (a church, b/c I'm in the South) there was a campaign sign for mayor saying "vote for (candidate), vote for (town), not activism!".

And...wow. That's the most obvious "screw queer & non white & every person not like me" sign I've ever seen without saying it outright.

Trying to research for my local election and there's almost NO information about the people running. One guy only has a Facebook page which is pretty exclusively photos of his election signs. Any info about anyone is the most bland, no-real-opinions BS ever. The only real info I've found is one-

My appointment for a new primary doctor I've been waiting months for, which I was forced to change b/c Medicare won't let you have 1 outside your county & I had to move, was cancelled via snail mail 3 days before. The next available is mid February. Medicare only allows primaries to make referrals.
