The people who lost children and other loved ones in the Texas floods are owed honest answers from officials. They should be told why flash flood warnings issued hours earlier were not conveyed to people in the path of the water. They don’t need more prayers from politicians. They need answers.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

A Florida sheriff ignored proof of Peter Sean Brown’s U.S. citizenship and held him for ICE anyway. A federal court just ruled it was a blatant violation of his Fourth Amendment rights.

My wife and I just talked yesterday of the work so many people- like Del & Phyllis in the picture below- did over the decades that lets us live now not in secret from our neighbors, but embraced. It’s a debt that can only be paid forward.
“Seventy years ago, the first lesbian rights organization in the U.S. was founded. It was called the Daughters of Bilitis, and it endured into the 1970s. The group may not have lasted long, but its influence has.” Fascinating, informative and inspirational read! www.advocate.com/news/all-abo...

Police then expelled everyone (including press!) from the Rotunda to (presumably) arrest them.

I've covered protests here a lot. Never seen anything like it.
