Like I've said before, if you have any doubts about climate change, just go to a super-boring insurance conference and listen to the super-boring panels where they dryly talk about the growing threat of disasters so catastrophic and unpredictable in scope they simply cannot be insured at any price.
Wild how the Fed chair saying that *entire regions of the United States* won’t be able to get a mortgage in the next decade barely registered as a news event

The unspoken premise here is that people still read books.

Without practicing memory recall techniques (i.e., studying), people forget nearly everything we've read. Except for the obnoxious "classics" that we were forced to write essays about in high school.

Another dataset I like is from the National Atmospheric Deposition Program, which has maps of the US that show we fixed the acid rain problem by implementing stricter emission controls on power plants.

As I say every year on Women In Science Day:

There are unfathomably many ways to be a woman.
There are unfathomably many ways to be a scientist.

Attacks on women and attacks on science go together, and it takes strength across the spectra of gender and science to stop them from breaking us down.

GenAI has polluted image search results, especially for animal pics. It’s now basically impossible to find accurate art references.

Enter this: a repository of open-access, AI-free images of wild & exotic taxa. Artists creating *without AI* have blanket permission for derivative/transformative use.

I'm going to have a baby in June, so....there is a lot on my mind! Too much honestly 😂 I know too much about how everything could go so wrong so fast
Tell me something that's been on your mind lately—big or small, silly or serious. Let’s talk about it! Sometimes a good convo is all we need to feel a little lighter. 💬💖

Bought a Rum Dog today. Y'know. Rum Dog. A little dog that you drink rum out of. And he has his own little glass of rum, with a straw. The back has a little tail and says "Rum Dog Rum". Rum Dog.
