My whole professional life there've been controversies over artists tracing someone else's art, plagiarism. My whole career I've dealt with the hideous theft of my work. Then some clown shoes billionaire tech bros come along and make a tech that literally CAN'T do what it does WITHOUT plagiarizing

A majority of the people that I work with are quite older than me & don’t know of the chronically online brain rot that I know.

Earlier today I tried (with varying success) to explain to my coworkers what “mewing” & a “mew streak” is. I can’t wait to tell them about “Skibidi Rizz Ohio” next

Not sure if the chimera counts, but like 1/3 of him is a lion & that is a type of big cat.. so I think it gets by through technicality
An all over pattern consisting of over 70 cartoon cats. You will find cats of all types and/or professions whether they be a chef, ghost or robot Illustration of a baby chimera sitting on top of a rock formation. The wings were the hardest thing to draw, just trying to make them work with the composition & to look natural .. or as natural as a chimera can look Pet portrait made of my sisters two cats. The black cat sits within a pumpkin while the tortie peeks out from behind him. I didn’t have the energy to do much for the background when I first made this, so I decided to simply make something abstracted & blurred to get by with.

Crazy that 2024 is almost over!

I am happy with the growth I've had as an artist & even if I sometimes cringe at my older work, I know those pieces were necessary for me to have made in order to grow.
Screenshots of an illustration at different points of progress. Each one is numbered 1 to 6, with 1 being the earliest point of progress & 6 being the closest point of finish. 1.) rough sketch, just generally getting the gist of the figure & expression. 2.) Laying down color & working in the background. 3.) The start of the refinement process 4.) The furthering of the refinement process started in 3. On a separate layer I begin working on the smoke detail. 5.) I begin to make anatomical adjustments that I overlooked prior - basically I finally flipped my canvas. 6.) I make further adjustments to the anatomy/perspective, such as moving the shoulder. I also continue working on the rendering & lighting. This is the finished illustration. It is of Sailor Moon & it is a redraw of 2 previous redraws I have done - which the 1st one was done because of the Sailor Moon redraw challenge in 2020. 3 Illustrations of Sailor Moon that I have made; laid out with the year in which they were created shown on the top corner. Begins at 2020, with 2022 in the middle & then 2024.

Since I did this before with another illustration, I thought I do it again for this Pokémon fan-art!

So here is a side-by-side of the in-progress screenshots & what ended up being the final piece.

It definitely was an emotional rollercoaster getting it how I liked it.
