Having experienced so many productive uses of this tech, the “progressive skeptic’s” narrative seems obviously false. Convincing to no one except those in the same bubble.

It can translate tone and context (which previous translation tech was notoriously bad at) at unprecedented accuracy.
It can generate vocab lists that would’ve taken hours of dull work to make.

It answers questions about subtle nuances that native speakers are unaware of (before AI asking native speakers these questions would leave me even more confused with totally contradictory answers).

As someone learning languages, AI gives me access to information that would take me hours to find, if at all.

In some circles like this, using AI for anything is considered lazy and unethical.

And while I used to agree with them mostly. I’ve recently found myself more and more skeptical of the skeptics.

The post im quoting (can other ppl see it? Idk) reads like a shit post. But looking below it seems like ppl are genuinely convinced that there are no significant uses for this tech, which is, well, just wrong and a non starter imho
