Nope, nope, nope. I gave myself permission to stop watching Severance after I listened to Ben Stiller admit that the goats were just fucking random.

That was exactly my attitude (at Penn State - WE ARE!) - I ended up going to grad school but I didn't plan to at the time, so I took all the classes that captured my imagination because when else can I do this? (also my college job as a stagehand taught me as much as any class).

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. As president, I would immediately establish the Total Perspective Vortex as a capital punishment on day one.

I mostly read on a Kindle these days (a non-Amazon alternate is coming with Santa this year), and I read non-fiction, and I have to say, its annoying on an e-reader to figure out where you are in the book when all of footnotes and endnotes are in the text percentage...1st world problem, I know.

they're about to find out that I will never stop being raging mad about Dobbs. If it takes civil war to restore the nation our founding fathers built, then so be it.

If you are accused of something awful, and the punishment is homelessness or a cage, and you don't have a defense, and the accusation is enough to satisfy society you deserve everything done to you, no one who can be put in your position has any rights at all worth a damn.

what the bloody hell?? I get pissed all the time when "Christians" try to tell me that people only do good work, are only kind to people for no gain, if they go to church and their religion tells them to do it. I don't need a God to tell me to be a good person. But this is next level "logic"..

I'm a subscriber - I read this comment, and I went over and logged on to read the whole article - thanks for the great writing!

Seriously, how do we advocate for our states to stop paying federal taxes?
December 2, 2025 at 10:07 PM
The way they do it, is that they say, if you accept federal HUD money to help people with housing services, then your organization cannot promote harm reduction in any way in any part of its work. They don't have to ban the substances.

that looks delicious, though I am swayed by the fact I never, ever pass up a deviled egg. Enjoy.

I agree, but this administration is banning it - I was just reading the new HUD funding rules and they specifically ban any org that promotes harm reduction. RFK spouts absolute nonsense about addiction. F'ing hypocrite.

The significance of his heroin use to me is his hypocrisy about it. He has some idea about work camps to "cure" heroin addiction. Is that how he got sober (is he even sober, does anyone know?)? NO, it is not. He's lived a life of harm reduction as far as I can tell. F'ing hypocrite.

I know everyone is saying not to believe MTG has changed, and remember her awfulness, but I do hold a secret hope that she ran for office based on her media intake, but when she has actually been dealing with people, she's figured out it is all lies. Maybe she really did anti-red-pill....

Watching you twist yourself into a pretzel insisting there's no housing crisis while I'm in suburban Philly working with people who can't find a place to live is also annoying. I understand your point about data, but it does nothing when faced with telling someone they're sleeping outside tonight.
