Like most things that are built and developed over time, the foundations of brain development are fundamental. A strong foundation = sustained growth and resilience. We must continue to support these early childhood iniatives in every state.

Who has read “Hacking College” and what were your thoughts? I am about to co-lead a book group at my university. This book seems very timely and important, and I would love to know your takeaways!

Just finished “Hacking College” by @carlsonics.bsky.social and Ned Scott Laff. Should be required reading of all in higher education as we collectively fight to survive so that our country survives.

I love graduation season at my university, I always have. This year seems extra poignant, as graduation is a bright light among this year’s challenges. We saw so many innovative creative works from our URI undergraduates. It’s a reminder that teaching & mentoring matter.

Formalizing evidence-based methods to support for the mental health needs of faculty, specifically junior faculty, is long overdue. Kudos to these researchers for their innovation and care for others!

That’s the story.
That’s the message-

nobody listens"

A great article on all things teaching, including a list of resources at the end. I’ve tried almost all of these strategies over my career so it’s nice to see them compiled in one spot.

Now we need someone to take this piece and create a one pager, in layperson terms, so that people outside of academia can learn about the issue.

This differs from an archive in that they want to rebuild the links between pages and replicate the full website.
