Sen. Chris Van Hollen: “I applaud Harvard's decision not to give in to bullying from the Trump administration.”

He added that, in many cases, what students are doing is protesting the actions of the US & Israeli governments with respect to Gaza—not seeking to undermine US foreign policy.
Van Hollen: "I applaud Harvard's decision not to give in to bullying from the Trump administration. Trump believes in 1st Amendment rights for himself, but apparently for nobody else ... the whole purpose of 1A is you don't have the government dictating speech as the administration is trying to do."

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

We have overcome near-death experiences before.

We shall overcome this one too. Not by denying we are in a constitutional crisis.

We are.

But we can and will prevail if we face the truth unflinchingly and never abandon the long twilight struggle against evil.

Thanks, Senator Booker! 15 hours and counting. As I get old, I'm learning that change NEVER seems to come easily, but it is definitely worth standing up for. And change does come eventually.
Corey Booker is still on his feet on the Senate floor! He deserves a virtual standing ovation from every American who believes in democracy!

I don’t care what Donald Trump says about me. I wear his scorn as a badge of honor.

But one lawyer — or even a thousand lawyers — won’t solve this problem alone. It will take the civic courage of thousands of leaders and millions of voters. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/trum...

Jen Psaki on #insidepsaki MSNBC tonight very directly opined that Chuck Schumer may be too old to lead Senate Democrats. Not a good look for MSNBC. I can't recall that ever happening before. We're all frustrated, but some are saying that Schumer's action may have been the lesser of two bad choices.

The media. Inspectors general. Prosecutors and FBI agents. Now law firms.

Trump is attacking every form of accountability as he to takes control of our gov’t.

Every institution—including the media and law firms—must stand up to this bully.
