Not only should it run all day but it could be significantly faster running modern multiple unit trains like this instead of slow diesel locomotives. Running faster would also help slot tighter with Amtrak trains.

What odd the point of maintaining these MARC stops on the Brunswick line between Brunswick and Martinsville? Almost no ridership and hard to imagine TOD. Why not just close them and let people from Frederick and Martinsville get in faster?

Key NE corridor takeaway for VRE expansion is getting faster multiple-unit trains like the FLIRT instead of slow locomotives is key to making the most of shared infrastructure. VA should get plans to electrify as well at least in VRE territory.
