This is such a silly straw man, and Carl (and everyone reposting this) should know better. The argument is that *to the greatest extent possible, science should not be political*. Everyone agrees that it IS political, but that’s bad! We should make it less so.

Left, a non-randomized study showing that saunas significantly decrease arterial stiffness.

Right, a randomized, crossover study, showing no benefits on arterial stiffness/blood flow. Note the colossal difference in media attention.

In the media, sensational studies > robust ones.
