As long as we still have our humour we can get through anything.... right 😅

Do i regret that decision? Honestly, a bit.. but

there's literally no way we would have found all that extra time! Weekends/holidays/days off/evenings off don't exist already in our world 😅

Ironically enough.. we toyed with the idea of doing a video series for the elxn, interviews with candidates in our studio space (but with actual questions)

...but lost interest in putting in that probono effort when we saw the City doubling down on AI to promote the elxn 💀

Advanced voting is where it's at. This was my first time in ages voting on elxn day but that was solely out of having no time to research candidates in the lead up (& a hope more survey responses/interviews would come out!)

Workers at exhibition were amazing, too. One even filled out my info again since I mysteriously had been de-registered from the voting list, despite my partner being on there (and both of us voting at the same time, same place, same residence, etc last muni elxn). Just a weird coincidence, I'm sure!

honestly it sounds like it would have been a time savings for us to brave the bridge & travel allllll the way to the west side! 😉

something something, cutting red tape! something something, efficiency, something something...... something.

See, this is the dream experience!

We usually vote early because I reserve election day for panicking, but this time we needed a HARD DEADLINE to motivate me to get out to the polls, lol!

We had a time crunch too, but luckily I gave us an 1.5hr buffer! We voted at the exhibition centre though, right after work hours!

(I did originally think we might have to leave the line. Not that it would have mattered much -- as a progressive, most of the people we voted for didn't get in! 😉)

Candidate screening ahead of time...... we are definitely living in bleak times.

We were in line for over an hour on voting day at the exhibition centre.. the limited locations & UCP voter changes definitely made the process take more time.

In all my years voting in various elxns, this was my longest wait. And I was deregistered from the voting list, too!

Sorry that should read 845 blank and/or spoiled ballots, or 4.8% of ballots cast.

Very interesting. Thanks for all the work you have done on this file over the elxn period!

From what I could gather today doing some quick research, the average for a municipal election is .5% to 2%. We’re WAY above the average but that’s the case.

Oh no! I'm sorry you didn't get a chance to stop by. We will have a virtual tour up .. one of these days!
