Grateful to all mentors, peers, friends, and family who supported me — especially my wife, Natalie. ❤️
Special thanks to @striepenlab.bsky.social, for freedom, trust, and inspiration at @upenn.edu.
One lasting lesson: admire what worked before worrying about what didn’t.

Widespread genomic heterogeneity at the type II NAD(P)H dehydrogenase locus predisposes Cryptosporidium to clofazimine resistance
The parasite Cryptosporidium is a leading cause of life-threatening diarrheal disease, and effective treatment is not available. The discovery of potent anti-Cryptosporidium activity of clofazimine, o...

After this weekend’s extensive firings at NIH and CDC - focused mainly on young scientists - like the ENTIRE class of epidemic intelligence service - I have a hard time to choose my music. This is the closest I have been to bitter - in my 30 years in US science.

Belated holiday wishes everyone! I don’t have a Christmas sweater in me but Bethan Wallbank suggested this as closer to my persona. BTW if you (like me) are still figuring out whether to ditch X for bluesky, try the app called buffer where you can do both with one post for now.
