@lintonjoe.bsky.social the Streetsblog article says that Alhambra got $10m, but i think the Attachment A of the board agenda shows that Alhambra *requested* $10m. Attachment B is showing that Alhambra will only receive a total of $4.45m. am i reading the attachments correctly?

lot of cities have such strict rules that the only way to build *anything* is to go to city council for a variance. that empowers both NIMBY busybodies and well-connected developers who know how to grease the right palms. that's regulation from private interested parties

i spoke with CM Hutt for a couple of minutes at ciclavia today. i thanked her for her support of ciclavia, and said i hoped that she would support bus lanes on la brea. she said she's still collecting feedback from the community. sigh

ohhh, so if you're rich enough to own a SFH, it's cool to be exempt from the ADA. but you can turn around and wave the ADA around as a reason to oppose additional housing in your neighborhood. got it

SFHs in your area rent for much more than $1500/month. they are not affordable. thus, they should not be allowed to be built. am i doing this right?
