I cannot deal with trying to parse anything to do with the Spending Review, Austrian massacre or the LA Riots today. Instead, I sat back, scrolled through photos on #ancientsky and ignored modernity. A breather from reality is necessary at times.

Skincare Roman style! This face cream pot, found in London, dates to c. AD150 & still has finger marks in it! Made from animal fat, starch & tin oxide, it gave a dewy glow.✨ Left in a temple offering, it’s a glimpse into everyday Roman life & proof that the glow-up is nothing new!

Now here's some #ancient shit for you. This is the beautiful standing stone Clach Ard, c7-8 century AD. It's one of only 2 known #Pictish carved stones on #Skye, in the hamlet of Tote. #travel #scotland #ancienthistory We have no idea what the symbols mean. . .could be profound or "Bob wuz here"

Roe deer carrion was an important resource for the released wildcats last winter. "Dhoon" was recorded burying this carcass for later (known as 'caching') 🦌
