"The Fourth Closet" #FNAF #booksky 📚💙

Not bad at all, I actually liked this book! Best out of the trilogy. Could imagine the story being confusing if you don't know the lore beforehand from YouTube videos, but maybe I'm just imagining that, since I knew the story well before reading.

"From Blood and Ash" #booksky 📚💙

Took too long for the "good part" of the story to start imo. When in-world explanations are offered, sometimes they feel retconned later on in a careless way. I liked the main couple fine for the most part. The end was shakier. MC should have been more upset.

"The Namesake" #booksky 💙📚

I don't know what the hell happened to me while reading this book. It should be boring, but I wept and sobbed from beginning to end. I'm not an immigrant, but the other themes resonate so strongly with where I am in my life right now that it crushed me. I can't grade it.

"The Underground Railroad" #booksky 📚💙

I think it's a good historical fiction read if you're interested in the era. The plot's good & many of the events devastating, but there's something in the writing style itself that made me a bit disengaged at times. A lot to potentially analyze here.

"Assassin's Quest" #booksky 📚💙

Not giving this book a grade, but: I loved the trilogy, but not the way it ended. Felt super unsatisfying. I know the series continues from here, and that makes it better. This book could've maybe been shorter. I mostly liked it, but there's a looooooot of traveling.

There's an advanced course on English Syntax that I'm taking right now and it's reminding me of how bad I am at memorizing abstract BS. I feel like I don't have enough hours in a week to learn all the material. I've taken several days off just to focus on syntax this fall and it just won't stick.

Personal Vent:

Being the group's hangout organizer is all fun and games until people initiate their own ideas but then still expect ME to organize THEIR hangout idea, and it's somehow MY fault they can't even suggest a day in the group chat. Like girl are you being srs rn? YOU'RE THE HOST, NOT ME!!

"Dead Man's Mirror" 💙📚 #booksky

I've decided that I like Poirot stories! However, the shorter the story, the less I seem to appreciate the conclusion. The titular mystery was the best out of the three, and "Triangle in Rhodes" felt a bit more like "ok, if you say so..."
Still enjoyable!

I made pancakes today.

I made them for everyone else first.
When it was time to make mine
I was low on batter but I made it work,
making it runny with low-fat milk.
Time made the pan too hot
but I thought;
if I grease the pan, just for me,
it will be a waste.

I didn't eat pancakes today.

Personal topic, but I don't think I should try to stay up late anymore, had a horrible anxiety attack/existential crisis last night out of nowhere. 3 am is an evil time!

Weird how times change, I used to love being a nocturnal gamer.

"Song of Silver, Flame like Night" 📚💙 #booksky

I enjoyed parts of it, but it's really sloppy. The main character should not have been an "outsider", it made many things feel underdeveloped. The mage villain's dialogue sounded weird.
I think it does get better after the first 100 or so pages.

"Art of War" 💙📚 #booksky

A quick read. The first half or so is applicable to life in general I feel, but the second half gets more into types of terrain and such which didn't particularly interest me at this time in my life. But who knows about tomorrow?
A little repetitive, but glad I read it!

"Muumipeikko ja pyrstötähti"

En lapsena lukenut muumikirjoja, mutta nyt luin. Todella kiva vertailla vanhaan animaatioelokuvaan. Yliopisto-opiskelijana tykkään jotenkin eritoten siitä miten akateemikkoja herjataan. Hahmoista Niisku & Niiskuneiti olivat lempparit tässä kirjassa.

"Wolfsong" 📚💙 #booksky

Super fanfic-y with the emotional dramatics and the writing style, but I teared up like 7 times so I'm not complaining. I was into the pack and supporting cast, but the main couple wasn't really for me. Certain characters needed more screentime. 100% enjoyed the book.

Classically styled yet easy to read, great humor, creepy undertones - what an interesting & long book. I really enjoyed it. I think the world & the lore are absolutely marvelous. If the sequel ever comes out I'll run to the bookstore for a copy.

I don't usually read history books, but I think I will in the future. This book affected me greatly. It manages to be very easy to follow despite the amount of information it's getting across. I'll look more into modern day indigenous issues ASAP.

To be clear, I am NOT a detective story reader, but wow. This book was great. Perfect length, memorable characters, satisfying ending. The clues I picked up on mattered (but not always how I thought they would)! I had so much fun binging this today.
