As some celebrate the 4th, remember that our nation began as a colony, built by enslaved peoples on stolen land, it came into being by Revolution fought in opposition to tyrannical taxes; thereby a new country was established explicitly as a state not beholden to a king or any one religion.

I'm proud of you for accomplishing things you never thought were possible. For getting up in the morning, for doing your best, and above all else, for choosing kindness in a world full of violence.

Don’t mistake my kindness for weakness. I am very, very weak, but they are two different things.

I would like to live in a society where the value of labor is set not at the cost of living, for my contribution to society should be valued to allow future planning and not a never ending struggle of just making it, labor should be set to the cost of thriving.
