Here I am, debuting on South Side Sox. I am Lenyn Sosa’s strongest soldier.

Sing it from the rooftops!
The Chicago White Sox (finally) have a second-sacker: Lenyn Sosa

Renisdorf can sense the Music Row-to-MLB pipeline of the 2050s.
It's a copycat league so I'm waiting for the other teams to do what the Dodgers have: manufacture a controversial move to a geographically advantageous area that attracts generational talents decades later

Zombie runner rules. It’s the only time bunting makes sense. Shut up, dorks.

I pledge my eternal loyalty to whichever team who drafts Scrappy Hopkins.

Cooper Manning looks like a policy wonk that Elizabeth Warren is grooming for state senate.
Cooper Manning looks like Eli Manning playing his twin brother in a state farm commercial

Not sure why Mike Vasil and his 2.9 WAR doesn’t qualify but go off.

Yeah man I dunno, if your OPS+ is 215 then that should make you the MVP.

SIX INNINGS OF ONE-HIT BALL, YOU SAY?

I really want to have a Shane Smith conversation. This dude is an ace.

I have to question the wisdom of listing “whoever has the most PA at a position“ when it bumps Kyle Teel and his 2.0 fWAR in favor of Edgar Quero, whose only advantage was being called up earlier.

Dug into 7-year peak WAR numbers hoping to easily disprove this thesis but Kershaw actually has a good case there:

Jackie Robinson: 51.5

Kershaw: 49.7

Duke Snider: 49.5

Sandy Koufax: 46.0 (retired after a 10.3 WAR season in ‘66)

Don Drysdale: 44.7
This may be the best example of recency bias ever

Trying to remember the last guy before Martin Perez who actually wanted to be here.

Analysts are going to be preparing their 2026 season previews in February and it’s going to be the first time a majority of them realize what has happened with the White Sox since mid-July.

Having a super utility guy like Brooks Baldwin who switch hits and slugs .400 is pretty useful, imo.

Batters taking their timeout in a 3-2 count is gonna hit like crack in the playoffs.

My one NFL take is that they should be really aggressive with regular season byes. Like, keep 18 games but every team has five bye weeks.

Taylor forced that throwing error by running in on the baseline and making the first baseman throw around him.

That curveball Martin threw against Goldschmidt is only the fourth one he’s thrown against a righty all year. The first three were earlier this month.

Uncle Steve explains the kick change during tonight’s first inning. It’s the middle finger, fyi.

If Martin hangs that cutter against the Yankees, it’s going to be a bad night. That’s the pitch teams have banged in the heart of the zone.

Ooo baby Davis Martin has the 96 mph wipeout 4-seamer tonight.
August 28, 2025 at 11:45 PM
If you are friends with Davis Martin, please get him in touch with me because I have a billion questions about his sinker mechanics and my wife can tell when I’m thinking about it instead of listening to her.
Why does Davis Martin have a sinker now?

The righty’s pitch-mix shuffle is a tribute to his skill—and pitching advisor Brian Bannister’s tailored coaching

The 2025 White Sox are all about taking three steps forward and two steps back, which is still better than last year when they moonwalked off a cliff before the end of May.

Who’s the idiot who wrote a hand-wringer about Colson earlier today?

Colson Montgomery has 40-homer potential — and an outrageous 4-seamer problem
History shows that you can’t achieve one without fixing the other
