THE ROAD NOT TAKEN. As I stand alongside Dr. Michael Bailey, the current president-elect of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), I am reminded of the profound impact he has had on my journey in veterinary medicine.

ONE STEP AT A TIME.

For many, the idea of progress through perseverance, steady effort and dogged determination, is natural, almost instinctual. So much so, that steady effort is often overlooked.

Pauli Murray, a civil rights and gender equality trailblazer, collaborated with giants like MLK. Born in 1910, she was the first Black woman ordained as an Episcopal priest. Her legacy inspires us to pursue equity in all areas of life including equity and access to veterinary care Happy MLK Day!
