Now she’s asking for pets and lovins. Big difference in just a couple days with patience and kindness. The pure joy I felt at seeing her realizing she’s ok for the for the first time made things just a tad more bearable.

Found the exact setting:
Reset SCSI bus on power up.

Also make sure you have Dynamically Scan… enabled. Here’s my settings I tested/made the DOS images with:

PSA: Check your expansion cards and keep them like you keep 3D filaments. Even tantalum capacitors fail when they age/are exposed to moisture.

This is a MediaVision sound card I picked up in an ewaste procurement. Zero rust on the case too.
