Hospital protests have begun for hospitals that are complying with an executive order banning gender affirming care.

The order does NOT have the force of law, but some hospital systems are too scared of trump to defend trans kids in their care.

This one at UVA Hospital.

SHARE WIDELY.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.

You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.

One thing before tomorrow:

Use your local libraries.

Get your card.

Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks.

Recommend titles for purchase (usually online).

Attend promoted activities.

Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires.

Tell your kids that libraries are good.

They are.

PSA: Every client I've worked with who has experienced a stillbirth or TFMR (and that's a lot of clients at this point) has then had to deal with insurance coverage issues where they needed to rehash their traumatizing experience over & over
The facts are, the ACA saved millions with pre-existing conditions and set standards for care.

But now, more than a decade later, with what we now know, it’s time to take the insurance companies out of the mix.
The subsidies they get are enormous. We don’t need them as middlemen.

The lack of clean, publicly available bathrooms in this country is one example of its family unfriendliness. We've again left this very basic need to corporations who can set limits for use. Have you ever tried to take a potty training toddler into a public portapotty?
