Saw someone use “problem in the ass” instead of “pain in the ass” and I genuinely think it’s more evocative. “Problem” is so much more ominous than “pain,” leaves a lot more to the imagination.

Hey fellas, if you tell me you love me after a 25-minute conversation on a dating app, I’m 150% sure you’re going to murder me

Wonderful meeting everyone at the Liar’s Rendezvous in Chicago this evening. I’m eagerly awaiting drafts of some of the stories y’all told me about

Color me unsurprised that the war on terror tactics we used abroad are now being used by the panopticon state domestically.

ICE and CBP Agents Are Scanning Peoples’ Faces on the Street To Verify Citizenship
Videos on social media show officers from ICE and CBP using facial recognition technology on people in the field. One expert described the practice as “pure dystopian creep.”

I’ve never really understood the expression “ass over ankles” to describe falling, given my ass is typically above my ankles anyway

The ICE signing bonus is the perfect example of how capitalism aids fascism. It's a lot easier to sell people on cruelty when you offer them relief from economic anxiety.

I'm not saying people like Bill Cosby and Sean Combs aren't monsters, because they are. I just think it's telling WHICH sexual predators get sentenced in this country, and which get to be president (Democrat and Republican).

I yearn for a world where my positive fiction doesn't feel like a dangerous distraction from the continued rise in fascism.

Shelving my fun romance book, and back to the doom and gloom for now.

Fucking murdering people is always just in the eyes of a Liberal, provided a piece of paper signed by an official says it is. Sure Liberals may hate *how* the fucking murder took place, but they will defend to *your* death the state's exclusive right to fucking murder you.

Writing my first novel, I often found myself thinking, "this chapter sucks, but it needs to happen before the good part."

I'm happy to find that isn't the case with my new one.

As Trump attacks unions and occupies our city, we’re called to remember how we got here.

Labor Day would not exist without the workers who fought and died at the Haymarket Massacre and the Pullman Strike in Chicago.

It’s not a coincidence he’s targeting Chicago:

Look at this graph.

The share of national income going to the richest 10 percent was lowest (and share to lower 90 percent highest) when union membership was at its highest. As unions have weakened, inequality has widened.

This is why we must build back union power.
