Any Democratic primary candidate who says “affordability” should instantly have to justify not having a DSA endorsement
This is not the worst problem in the world but I’m going to loose my mind listening to Democratic candidates for office talk endlessly about affordability for the next 11 months and have fuck all to actually propose to do achieve it.

The reason people associate with Larry Summers is because he brings in money to these institutions that let him hang around.

If we “metaphorically” eat the rich, the problem goes away.

As funny as it is to see the tankies fall over themselves to justify China and Russia’s actions at the UN with regard to Palestine, this should all be a reminder how genuine solidarity will never come from states but can only come from people

Imagine choosing to be an evil piece of shit. Cruel profiteers like this should be shamed into oblivion.
An incident in a locker room has always been key to Riley Gaines’ anti-trans fame.

But @msjpauly.bsky.social spoke to swimmers who were present at the same 2022 meet. They shared a very different narrative.
How right-wing superstar Riley Gaines built an anti-trans empire
The swimmer tied a trans woman for fifth. The MAGA industrial complex took care of the rest.

The Uglies movie fucked up by not casting conservative influencers as the Pretties.
“Plastic surgery that is very visible makes it clear that women have invested in their body, and that’s a signal that they’re sending to everybody that they’re putting in this work.”

Call it girlboss logic with a MAGA facelift.

It is interesting that the arguments against inheritance tax are rooted in a narcissism that sees a child not as their own individual person, but as an extension of the parent.

“Rich people admit they are rich”
challenge level: impossible
Hmm, I'm not rich nor am I writing laws. By the time I die, a million won't be worth all that much. I am simply a contributing member of a capitalist society who sees the benefits of capitalism but also a huge need for necessary, essential, and even efficient (return on investment) social services.
November 19, 2025 at 10:15 PM
I appreciate when rich people are honest that they are rewriting the laws so they don’t have to contribute to society because they think their grandchildren are more important than normal people.

I think it’s bad when policy is based on that, but it is honest.
The scraping, saving, sacrificing, incredible hardworking is me -- and I want to leave a few million to my grandkids who I'm also raising now. Are they just "lucky" or are they part of a conributing, law abiding, hardworking family who are productive members of society?

This is why emoluments are unconstitutional
“Saudi Arabia, I get along with all of them,” Trump said at a campaign stop in 2015. “They buy apartments from me. They spend $40 million, $50 million. Am I supposed to dislike them? I like them very much.”

Imagine having watched Trump win twice and having learned nothing.

The second one of those is not because it wins you votes: it is because it is wildly unethical to do other wise.

The first one of those doesn’t even have that going for it.
Some controversial ideas of mine:

1. It’s better to say things voters agree with than things they disagree with

2. When in office, it’s important to try to do a good job of governing

This is what guys like Yglesias, and everybody else making hay about Kamala supporting transition care in prisons, want to happen everywhere.
EXCLUSIVE: A forced detransition policy had disastrous effects in one Georgia prison, according to the manager of the medical unit there.

The policy is on hold due to a court order requiring prisons to re-start hormone treatments for incarcerated people in GA.

He should have been fired and driven out of public life in 2005.

Harvard is a force of classism & sexism, laundering the dumbest children of the rich like they were subprime mortgages. I know our state constitution promises its independence, but it is a net evil to the world.
So Harvard is keeping this guy, but Claudine Gay had to step down over ginned up plagiarism accusations and bad-faith accusations of anti-Semitism.

Got it.
Larry Summers tells @theharvardcrimson.bsky.social
he’s stepping back from all public commitments in light of his messages with Epstein, saying he is “deeply ashamed” and hopes “to rebuild trust and repair relationships.”

He will continue teaching.

My options for the House so far: the insecure mouthpiece of the national party, the centrist with no opinions of her own, the progressive with no money, the bowtie who thinks fascists will stop being fascists if you fix their parking tickets, a former Republican and a maybe-currently-a-Republican.

They reported on how Podesta’s risotto recipe rather than on Trump’s supporters doing Watergate-in-cyberspace, but sure: a convicted pedophile with photos of a presidential candidate with his victims is just a reason for a reporter to conspire on how best to do a blackmail.
The emails that you’re seeing now are news in themselves, but that’s because of how they’re coming out—a congressional committee released them—& the context in which they’re being viewed. A guy emailing a reporter talking about old girlfriends or saying someone is “dirty” is not a whole news story.

Ever since The New York Times fired its public editor, it has become an anti-democratic propaganda outfit and instead of admitting that its journalists are mad we noticed.

In the meantime it has brought fascism to America & is waging an anti-trans crusade.
As a former member of NYT’s finance team & the co-author of this story exposing the relationship between Epstein & Bill Gates as well as one on Epstein & JPMorgan, I am really frustrated to see people claiming that NYT sat on publishable info about Trump and Epstein 🧵 www.nytimes.com/2019/10/12/b...

If Senators can just decide to give themselves $500,000, they should just cash out America and take the money somewhere warm.

It was a nice run, but America is obviously done. Whichever Senate is the last one gets to keep all the profits.
