I can think of no reason to bring Kali back into the plot if not to give El more of a family so after Vecna's defeat she can have her own life separate from Hawkins.
El only left Kali in season 2 because Hawkins was in danger. If the danger is gone forever, why stick around?

I give Naughty Dog shit for endlessly remaking The Last Of Us on a perpetual loop, but maybe that is what they should just spend all their time doing if they can't develop a new IP game without abusing their employees for years to get it done.
