This Wood Sandpiper has been feeding on floating weed on the top res @bowintersett2.bsky.social for the last few days. Still present this morning off the north bank. An eclipse drake Red Crested Pochard is on the Country Park

An unlikely pair of swans on the Low Lake. #Wintersett this morning. The Whooper Swan has been present all winter & though it can fly it may not be fully fit for a trip back to Iceland, we’ll see.

Used to spend all winter looking for Arctic gulls, but it’s a forlorn job nowadays. Always nice to drop on a good clean Caspian Gull like this 1st winter in the roost at #Wintersett tonight

There was a Norwegian Black-headed Gull in the roost #Wintersett last night & this short billed Caspian Gull was on the ice there this morning. Not sure if it hasn’t lost the tip of its bill.

Still 450 Common Gulls in the Top Res roost #Wintersett1 along with 3,000 BHGulls & 60 Herring Gulls. The Med Gull joined the pre roost on the Country Park.
