Imagine if, after Nixon won the presidency in 1968, democrats said “civil rights for people of color is a losing issue. We need to move to the center.” I am a democrat because I believe civil rights for all human beings is non-negotiable. Trans rights are Human rights.

Absolutely this. Rights of marginalized peoples are human rights.
Many commentators talk about how migration, abortion, trans rights etc require “compromise.” But those who demand this never have to compromise their own rights. So, instead of demanding marginalised folk compromise more, let’s focus on ending politics that compromise their lives in the first place.

Members of the governing class need to be held responsible for not telling the truth. The reason we are here today is that corruption and lies run rampant in the governing class.
It's sad, but we really need to start expecting honesty and normalize demanding the truth from people if we are ever going to make it through this as a society. Humans can't function if they can't agree on and accept an objective reality.
