Five corporations control 90% of the US media market.

Airlines merged from 12 major carriers in 1980 to 4 today.

Four giants control 80% of meat processing.

A handful of companies control the pharmaceutical industry.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s electrifying new action thriller, “One Battle After Another,” is a father-daughter epic, with an unusually personal gush of feeling, Justin Chang writes.
“One Battle After Another” Is a Powerhouse of Tenderness and Fury
In Paul Thomas Anderson’s film, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and loosely inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s “Vineland,” the fight against American fascism is a family affair.

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion, after getting $1.2 trillion richer over the past year alone.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country is getting squeezed by tariffs and high prices for groceries, utilities, and health care.

The system is broken.

A lower-court judge has sided with Harvard in its lawsuit against the Trump Administration, concluding that the Administration “used antisemitism as a smokescreen for a targeted, ideologically-motivated assault on this country’s premier universities.”
Harvard’s Mixed Victory
