I heard Ezra Klein is being cancelled over here on Bluesky…

He’s a treasure of civility and pragmatism, ya’ll are the embodiment of the political horseshoe over here, extremism begets extremism.

@viticci.macstories.net @ismh86.net on Connected this week, Ticci mentioned Apple doesn’t have a foundational LLM of their own, but they do! A 3b parameter local model & larger model served via private cloud compute. Not as performant by they exist.

so my take on zuck rolling back moderation at meta is that he’s right.

moderation at scale is an impossibly utopian ideal and every company that has tried has failed. worse yet it has fuelled polarisation and public distrust of *everything*.

more speech should be the default.

We’re entering flu season with bird flu raging among US dairy cattle: ~third of CA herds infected.

The danger is flu viruses have a trick: they can swap segments —one farmworker co-infected by human and avian flu— to cause pandemics.

We may get lucky. I hope so.

Great ad for AirPods Pro hearing aid mode, it’s not often a feature can legitimately be called life changing, but this one qualifies and then some.

“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.”

Serious narrative violation here.

Turns out those who say they don’t like AI generated art have trouble identifying it from actual art.
