The murder/mystery is well plotted but what really makes this book is its exceptional character work. It is somewhat reminiscent of one of my favorite Jim Thompson books, The Kill-Off, but still very much its own, wonderfully compelling thing.

And then stopping yourself from also adding, he also played Binky, the villain in Shakes the Clown.

I love that they spelled out Artoo Detoo like it was the official alien name, and poor R5-D4 just got letters and numbers.

Same for me with those A1 anthologies. For years I only brought a short box of comics with me during my moves, and those were always right up front. I really liked the Trident anthologies, too.
